LIVING GUIDE

Mofumaro guide

This isn't a game about raising one correctly. It's a guide to watching, noticing, and slowly coming to know your own.

Eat

How hungry it is and what mood it's in change how it reacts to meals and treats. The hungrier it is, the more eagerly it eats.

Bond

Call, pet, play, watch over. The same act gets a different gesture back depending on distance and mood.

Sleep

"Put to bed" is only a nudge toward sleep. Leave it be and it rests; keep fussing and it wakes.

Go out

The garden and walks bring games and discoveries you won't get at home. The scenery shifts with the real time of day.

How will its personality grow?+

Clinginess, curiosity, stubbornness, sensitivity, independence — these build up slowly out of how you interact each day and a long history of living. One loves to play, another prefers being watched quietly, another won't come near when it's sleepy. Repeat the same action and you won't get the same reaction from every one of them.

Left alone too long, or kept hungry and short on sleep, it may keep its distance and turn contrary. Careful attention over a few days will slowly repair things.

How will its aura change?+

Around day seven, a pet you've spent enough time with lights up with a faint aura reflecting its personality. There are eight families — Crimson, Sakura, Violet, Azure, Jade, Gold, Moonlight, and Dusk — each in three depths.

The color deepens as both age and bond grow. A rare few are born able to reach two colors, and rarer still, three. It glows quietly during sleep, and a little larger when the mood is good.

How do shop items work?+

Toys and furnishings you buy are saved as that pet's own. Press Play, or just watch it act on its own, and item-specific gestures start to appear.

Some items, like the Treasure Hunt Pouch, bring small finds home from the garden and walks and record them in the discovery book. Items aren't there to help you win — they're there to add reactions and memories you haven't seen yet.

What changes with two?+

In Pair Home, two sets of personality, mood, hunger, and sleepiness run independently. Press a care button and you choose who by name — so you can put the sleepy one to bed and play with the other.

Out of their chemistry and daily relationship come things only two can do: sleeping side by side, hopping in unison, chasing, jealousy, squabbles, making up. You can head to the garden or a walk with one or both.

If you live with two, the bottom of this guide lets you choose which to say goodbye to. Your NULLGAME password is required to confirm it’s you, and the last pet always remains. Afterward you can welcome a second one again by buying a Mofumaro in the shop (Pair Home required). You can never get back the same personality and memories, and what you spent is not refunded.

To downgrade from Pair Home to a regular Home, first choose who stays and say goodbye to the other. Either the standard or the calico may stay. Once the server confirms you're down to one, you keep Pair Home until the period you've paid for ends, then switch to Home at $4.99/month with room for one.

What is a calico Mofumaro?+

The calico Mofumaro is a separate pet, adopted in the shop while you're on Pair Home. The coat is calico, but its personality, memories, mood, hunger, sleep, and bond with you all develop independently of a standard Mofumaro. It keeps the same calico markings it was born with in every gesture.

The first one you meet in the free trial is always a standard Mofumaro. If you live with two, then say goodbye to the standard and keep the calico, you can go on raising a single calico in a regular Home. Keep that calico and buy another, and you can live with two calicos in a Pair Home.

Important: If you cancel and the period ends, the personality, memories, name, and growth data of every Mofumaro you own — including a calico bought in the shop — are deleted, and you start over with a seven-day trial and a new standard Mofumaro.

What happens while you're away?+

Time keeps moving while the browser is closed. Your pet sleeps, gets hungry, watches the window, and plays alone. Traces of that life remain in the room and in Today's Moments when you return.

Your pet will not always turn to you the moment you return. They may stay asleep or continue what they were doing. You do not need to interact constantly, but checking in now and then lets you notice small changes since your last visit.

Habits and Today's Moment+

As time passes, each pet begins to favor a place of their own: the window, bed, rug, or food bowl. Pawprints and a dent in the bed are signs that life continued while you were away.

Today's Moment saves one real moment your pet showed that day. A quiet day without anything dramatic is part of their natural life too.

You name it once, at your first meeting. Even if it changes hands in a trade, its name and the time it has lived stay the same. When your subscription period ends, saved data for every pet — including purchased ones — is deleted.

IMPORTANT DECISION

Saying goodbye to a companion

Only while two share a Pair Home can you choose which to say goodbye to. You can never part with the last one.

After a goodbye, you can adopt a new second Mofumaro in the shop — but only while you’re on Pair Home. The pet you parted with, and what you spent, do not come back.
